Turpin Family Reunion 2013
The Turpin Family Reunions are always a good time. Always worthy of writing home about. The Turpins have created a wonderful family full of love, faith, and a whole lot of fun!
Each year we gather at the beautiful Spring Haven Lodge in the Spanish Fork Canyon. We cram all the kids and grand kids and great grand kids in one amazing spot and go about our reuniting all over again.
Family Olympics are played, talents shows are created and a special family sacrament/testimony meeting is held. My kids look forward to seeing their cousins they don't get to see very often. They always seem to pick up right where they left off and that special family bond is so evident. Its often hard being some of the few that live far from the family because we miss the monthly family nights or the baby blessings and farewell talks. But it is so special when we do get to gather in Utah and I think we cherish that time even more. It will be different next year without Grandpa Turpin but I know he would want nothing more than to see us continue gathering and having fun together.

After Ragnar, Ronnie went to collect our team medals. The race director was asking him about our team name and how it all came about. There is always a story with these amazing Ragnar teams and ours was no different. After hearing of Grandpa and Grandma Turpin and our desire to run for them and their Legacy, the race director was moved and felt he wanted to give us two extra medals for Grandpa and Grandma. He said they earned them just as much as we had. He also told Ronnie that he never gives out extra medals. They are hard earned. It was such a special gesture and meant so much to us and to Grandpa and Grandma. Ronnie presented the medals to them at the family talent show along with a beautiful tribute to them and presentation of why we ran. They wore their medals proudly that weekend and we are so grateful they could.

I want an invite to the next reunion, that seriously looks like so much fun! What gorgeous scenery and even better company. Some of my favorite childhood memories are at family reunions, your kids are always going to remember these!
Family reunions are the best...I love watching the kids have cousin-time. How sweet that Ronnie's grandparents got medals too...what a sweet tribute to obviously an amazing couple. Glad you could have so much fun this summer!
