Happy New Year!
New Years Day we packed up the kids and the car and drug some friends along as we explored Vashon Island. We hit the Ferry, the beach, the bike in the tree, Zombies for lunch, zoo lights and some good soul food for dinner. It was such a fun day but I was SO tired by the time we made it home. We are so thankful for such good friends out here in Washington that will traipse all over the islands with us in the rain and cold.
Legend has it that a boy abandoned his bike back in the woods and forgot all about it until it showed up in the headlines as being eaten by a tree. Gotta love Seattle- so strange.
This one could not handle the gift shop so we went for a walk outside where she found a perfect seat to rest in.

You are true Seattleites to not let the cold and dreary weather keep you indoors! I'm working on that. There is something mystical and dreamy about a foggy overcast day at the beach, though. So much packed into one day, but what an awesome day it was and a great start to your new year!
