For the love of DANCE!!!

Madison has been asked to join a dance team this spring.  She had been dancing for another company that we weren't too happy with so she was very excited about the change.  She is on a competition team which is a bit more intense, practicing 4 days a week for 1.5-2 hours.  I thought she might get tired of it or burnt out but she has been loving it and has really enjoyed her teachers and teammates.  It is really good to see her catch the competitive bug a little and really experience the joys of being on a team.  I learned so many great lessons growing up from participating in team sports.  This will be such a huge influence on her life and create some really fun memories.  And you wouldn't believe what a homework motivator it is!
We have enjoyed the mommy daughter bonding time it has provided too.  She recently attended a couple of weekend long conventions in Seattle where they bring in professional dancers and choreographers to teach the kids different work shops.  She was able to learn from tWitch, Travis Wall, Stacy Tookey, and Sonya Tayeh!  I think I was a little more excited than she was but after watching a few YouTube videos she was hooked ;)  We were able to stay at the Westin in Seattle together and enjoy a fun girls weekend with her friends.  She is excited to start learning her competition routines for the fall and may even be dancing in the Disneyland Christmas Parade this November!  I just LOVE watching her dance her little heart out.  It suits her dramatic flare ;)

early morning warm up with tWitch

tWitch!
 Sonya was madison's favorite.
A little hip-hop sass
And a sneaky shot of a lyrical work shop-- shhh!

After a long day of dance who wouldn't want to share a crab with their bestie? ;)

 Pool time with the girls.
And of course the late night candy runs, nail polishing, and hair clip making

We are excited to see where this adventure takes us.
