8 is GREAT!!!

Who would have guessed that this little mischievous boy would steal my heart and never give it back.  The little boy who went through cupboards like they were presents on Christmas, who climbed countertops with ease, who could scream with an uncanny liking to a screeching owl.  Yep, he is now my sensitive and sweet mommas boy who asks for extra cuddles, begs for me not to leave for meetings at night and always has a kind word to share about my dinners he likes or my awesome backflips on the trampoline.  This boy now plays princesses with his little sister and lets her kiss him like Prince Charming.  He looks up to his big sister and loves to watch her dance.  For real, he will sit through a two hour recital like a champ and scour the program in search of his sisters name.  And he can hardly stand waiting for his dad to get home so he can tell him about the touchdown he made at recess or the sweet goal he scored.  He is such a good friend and never has an unkind thing to say about anyone.  He may be my little man but I have a whole lot to learn from him.

8 is a pretty big deal around here.  So we made his birthday a pretty big deal and took him and three of his friends to see a Mariners game.  I would say they had the time of their lives.  They made it on TV, devoured snack after snack, took their shirts off for rally time, and heckled the center fielder like they were from Philadelphia.  People around us found themselves more interested in the four half naked dancing boys than they did the mariners.  Who wouldn't?

Starting the day off right with some of daddy's silly face pancakes.
Bex, Charlie, Noah, Gavin

Looking for the birthday announcement on the scoreboard which was the first one to flash up on the screen and only I saw it.
It read, "It's GREAT to be 8!  Happy Birthday Beckham, Love, your family and friends."

All four of the boys told me it was the best birthday ever!  I'll take it.
We love you buddy, happy happy birthday!

That is a pretty awesome way to celebrate! I loved reading what you wrote about him, and getting a chance to know him a little more while you guys were here, he really is such a sweetheart. And there's nothing like a a mama's boy. Happy birthday, Bex!
