Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Bethie

Ronnie's parents and little sister came to visit us for the first time in Seattle and we had so much fun showing them around. We did lots of sight seeing and lots of fun family time at home. I have so many pictures and wanted to include a few from each adventure so you are warned, this may be a long post!

Saturday was a beautiful sunny and warm day. We took advantage of the nice weather and went outside to browse a local farmers market. After walking around we headed to XXX Root beer for lunch. XXX Root beer is a local old skool diner where the food is gigantic, the root beer is tasty, and the memorabilia on the walls is straight out of the 50's. They have gigantic root beer floats and even bigger hamburgers. We had fun "trying" to finish our meals, I don't think any of us did! After a good nap for Bex we headed to the city for a Mariners baseball game. Lucky for us it was JJ Putz "soul patch" night- YES!

Sunday we went to church, and then came home where I thought I was just making dinner for the family but instead I was surprised with cake, balloons, decorations, and presents to celebrate my early birthday and Dad C's late birthday. Ronnie even had goodie bags for all the kids with little treats inside. The Calderwoods, who we consider family, came to join in the fun and we had a PARTY complete with a good old fashion American Idol sing off. It was a great night, thank you everyone for making my birthday so special!

Monday we had breakfast at Salish Lodge near Snoqualmie falls. It was very yummy, we even sampled the real hot chocolate and the honey from heaven. Then, we ventured out in the rain to see the beautiful water falls. Even though it was cloudy and cold, it was still beautiful to see. We then headed up to Seattle to catch a ferry over to Bremerton with just a little pit stop at Boehms Candies. The kids were pretty excited about actually being able to drive the car onto the ferry boat. It was an adventure in itself! We hung out in Bremerton, visiting a museum and eating lunch before we had to head over the Narrows Bridge and take Dad C. to the airport.

The rest of the week was filled with the typical run around that I do daily; gymnastics, swimming lessons, preschool, naps, and games.

We also snatched Maddie from school so that we could all go to the Seattle's Pacific Science Center. it is a really fun place for kids and adults alike. We could have spend many days venturing around the different exhibits. Madison loved the Butterfly house. She was so careful walking around, not wanting to touch or step on the "fradle" butterfly's. It was perfect timing since they are learning about butterflies in school right now. They have cocoons in their classroom and each day she comes home to report if the butterflies have come out or not. Beckham really enjoyed the toddler area where he was able to roam free, play with water, and climb in anything he wanted. I love watching my kids learn and seeing their eyes light up with excitement when they grasp a new concept, especially in such a fun environment!

I think we packed in about as much fun as we could fit in one week! It was really nice to fill our house with family and friends, we love having visitors!
