Back to school
This should have been the first year where I had Beckham and Madison in the same school. Then Madison had to go all smarty pants on us and get transferred to another school. Oh yeah, that is double the carpooling, double the PTSA guilt trips, double the fundraising activities etc... It hasn't been so bad, but they won't be in the same school again until high school (for one year) which makes me a little sad.
We had the traditional back to school fashion show and dinner. This year we went cafeteria style. The kids loved it!
Madison's new school isn't too far away and we have had a great experience there so far. She is doing really well and starting to gain her love for school back just a bit. It was rough at the start of the year but I expected that.
Here are the stats for our big 3rd grader!
Teacher: Mrs. Mulvaney
Favorite subject: reading and writing
Favorite thing about her new school: bigger playground
Way she travels to and from school: carpool with Isha
Goal for this school year: "make lots of new friends and keep in touch with all my old friends"
She was really good about the transition to a brand new school. She is so easy going, it was like she had been going there forever. She woke up early (her new school starts 45 min earlier than her old school), picked out her outfit, did her own hair, and made herself breakfast. Now if I can just get her to make her own lunch...
And our big Kindergartener
Beckham was super excited to start school at the big school like his sister. He was OK with her not being at the same school, I think because he knew a few kids in his class already. He has a really great group of kids from our neighborhood in his class so it is really fun. He is in half day kindergarten in the afternoons which I am loving. After getting Madison off we have a nice easy morning together.
We were SO excited that he got the same teacher that Madison had. We LOVE her. Here are his stats-
Teacher: Mrs. Lanham
Favorite subject: PE
Transportation to and from school: carpool with Brogan and Ryder
Favorite thing about going to school: recess!
Goals for this year: "Learn to read all by myself!"
Hazel, Ella, Gavin, Beckham, Ryder, Tanner, Brogan

What a great first shot! The composition is amazing! And i love the idea of having a cafeteria dinner and a fashion show. Leave it to you Jodee to be so creative!
My parents used to say "it all goes by so fast..." and now I'm saying it.
One minute they are headed off to Kindergarten. The next they've got their own Facebook account and use deodorant.
You never know, Beckham could get all smarty pants on you too and they'll be at the same school in no time at all. They both look so grown up and adorable. I love your back to school dinner, I need to remember that next year. Beckham has good taste in friends, anyone named Ryder is sure to be cool :)
What a great way to capture a new school year. Good luck juggling the two schools. At least they don't start at the same time. We had to do that for a year and it was tough. Your kiddos sure do look cute and so grown up. I love the back to school dinner - cafetria style even! You are such a fun mom!
