From shark boy to toothless

Bex got word that he had two extra teeth.  These were no ordinary teeth either; they were sharp and pointy shark teeth.  Once one popped through he was convinced he was part shark.  "Just call me shark boy ok mom?"  He became pretty fond of these teeth and showed them proudly to whomever asked.  Then it came time to remove these great white teeth.  Our most amazing dentist knew he loved these teeth and probably didn't want them yanked out of his mouth so he softened the blow by promising to make him a necklace so he could wear them around his neck.  See, told you he was the most amazing dentist.

By the end of June he was no longer "shark boy" but proudly coined the name "toothless".  We took him into the oral surgeons office early in the morning and in a short half hour he was loopy and sporting a gaping hole right in the front of his mouth.  They pulled his one extra tooth that was poking through, one baby tooth next to that and then went up and grabbed the other extra tooth that hadn't dropped down yet.
He was pretty hilarious on those meds.  Not "David goes to the dentist" hilarious but pretty good.  he kept trying to get up and walk which was pretty comical.  And while watching TV he said, "mom, why is there two of everything?"
He wrote the tooth fairy a note to make sure she didn't take the shark teeth.  She got the baby tooth but those other two were going on his necklace.  For sure!
